*  Indian Team's visit to World Games-2009 Gateball Championship:-         An  eight members Indian team led by Manoranjan Mishra will go to Kaohsiung in Taiwan on 15th July . More than 100 teams from different Gateball playing nations are taking part in this prestigious  event which will be staged on 18th & 19th July. Ranjan Kumar Nanda,Arabinda Chhotoray, Biswa Ranjan Mishra, ArabindaMohapatra,Lalit Kumar Dash, Prasant Kumar Nayak and Niranjan Mangaraj  are the other members of the Indian team. This mega championship generally organised once in every four years at different places.

 *  25th Jan'09- National Gateball Championship :- Orissa "A" become champion. in the National Gateball Championship held in Bhubaneswar. International Player studded and under the captainship of Manoranjan Mishra,Orissa A defeated Orissa B by 17 to 9 point . Youngest player of the Championship, Spandan Mishra , 13 years old of orissa A became the highest point holder with 29 points (8 matches) in his credit  and received the " Player of the Tournament" trophy.  Earlier in  the league match weaker Himachal Pradesh team caused an up set by defeating the Orissa B , a strong contender of the title with 15 to 14 points. 

    *   The National Gateball Championship will be organised at Bhubaneswar by the IGA on 24th & 25th of January 2009. Affiliated units have been requested to send the application to take part in the event.

 *    Indian team's visit to Macau:- Indian Gateball Team visited Macau to participate in the 9th Macau Asian gateball Invitational Championship-2008 held on 16th &17th Dec'08. Under the captainship of Manoranjan Mishra , team won two games over Macau with a thumping 25-7 & 25-10 , but lost to China in a tight battle on 7-13 & 9-13.  India received a special trophy. Before joining the championship India played some practice-cum- friendly matches against Hong Kong at Rivira Garden, Hong Kong.

*    IGA- Jammu & Kashmir  &     IGA-Orissa opened.

  *    2nd Nov.2008: A seminar cum Demo of this game was organised by the IGA-Chandigarh , at Chandigarh  where a good number of students of local schools and prospective associations representatives were witnessed the Demo. On this occasion Mr. Manoranjan Mishra, Secretary General of IGA demonstrated some tricks & strategy of this game .Thanks to  Mr. S.S. Tiwari, Mr.Lamba & Mr. Rajkamal for their support. 

 *    IGA-Chandigarh     &      IGA-Uttrakhand  opened.

  *    Gateball with Territorial Army people:   A demo-cum-coaching session was organised by IGA at 120 Battalion campus, Bhubaneswar where  a number of Army official were participated. All of them took keen interest to learn even some were played like  expert in first instance. Dr. Tamotia,President of IGA  on this occasion expressed gratitude on behalf of IGA to Lt.Col. Singh Deo, Dy. Commandant and other official for their hearty cooperation to organise this .

*    IGA Haryana Chapter opened:      IGA's first chapter opened in Haryana . On this occasion ,  a  formal meeting was held at Kurukshetra in presence of  Manoranjan Mishra , Secretary General of IGA. Dr. S.K. Tamotia , President of  IGA welcomed the new memebers  from Haryana to the IGA family.
